Final Invite to be in our Voter's Guide
This is the final call. Right after filing, WA Families for Online Learning sent out questionnaires. Our families are very encouraged by the hundred plus responses from both current legislative leaders and first time candidates, but we're missing yours!
So, before sending our Voter's Guide to thousands of our member families across the state without hearing from you, we've put together two last, quick ways for you to be included. There are no "wrong" answers. We just want to get to know you and know you care about K-12 online public school programs... but you need to do it today.
One way: Answer six questions online
Click https://sites.google.com/site/washingtononlinefamilies to answer these questions.
- Would you like to see the laws governing online public school programs brought together into their own distinct section of education law? (no wrong answer!)
- Do you support keeping the same state funding for students enrolled in traditional and online public schools?
- Do you recognize the difference between a taxpayer supported student enrolled in an online public school who meets all state academic, assessment and attendance requirements with their WA certificated teacher... and other students who are privately "home schooled" by their parent(s)?
- What role should the state play in online K-12 public school programs?
- State oversight of local programs reaching students throughout the state
- State oversight and mandatory state approval of local programs
- State oversight, mandatory approval and brokering programs
- Establish one statewide online school
- Have you visited with a student enrolled in an online public school program?
- If you would like to hear more about online public school programs, please choose one of the following: (DVD, talk with a teacher, arrange a demo...)
One, final, really quick way to be included:
If you really, really don't want to answer questions, yet want to connect with our families, here is one super-simple way to be included in a positive way....
Click on https://sites.google.com/site/washingtononlinefamilies , type in your name, Leg District and skip to question #6. #6 merely asks if you'd like to hear more about online public school programs and choose a way that works best for you (receive a DVD, talk with a teacher or arrange a demo). To make it into the Voter's Guide, you have to go to the link https://sites.google.com/site/washingtononlinefamilies , type in your name and answer at least one question. It should take five minutes or less.
You've read our email. Thank you! We are asking for your time because we'd like to include you in our Voter's Guide, instead of listing you as "failed to respond".
Please call or email us (253-564-9779, onlinefamiliesg@gmail.com ) with any questions you may have. We've had some wonderful calls.
We really look forward to hearing from you today!
Rich Dingle
President, Washington Families for Online Learning
